# Read me first

This is your company brain. A set of files that turn Claude from a clever
stranger into something that actually knows your business.

Fill them in once. Upload them to a Claude Project. From then on, every chat you
start inside that project already knows who you are, what you sell, who you sell
it to and how you talk.

## The order to do it in

1. `01-company-brain.md` — start here. Do this one properly and the rest are quick.
2. `02-tone-of-voice.md` — how you talk. This is the one that stops it sounding like a robot.
3. `03-services-and-pricing.md` — what you sell and what it costs.
4. `04-who-we-sell-to.md` — your customer, in their words not yours.
5. `05-proof-and-results.md` — the numbers, reviews and results you are allowed to quote.
6. `06-brand-and-design.md` — colours, fonts, image style.
7. `07-project-instructions.md` — this one does NOT get uploaded. It gets pasted into the project instructions box.
8. `08-the-weekly-prompts.md` — the jobs you will actually run each week.
9. `09-what-not-to-upload.md` — read before you upload anything.
10. `10-moving-from-chatgpt-and-gemini.md` — only if you have history in another
tool worth bringing across. Read it before you export anything.

## If you have been using ChatGPT or Gemini already

Do file 10 first, before you start typing. You almost certainly own half of
this already and there is no sense writing it twice. The short version is that
your export is not your brain, so do not upload it. Take your custom
instructions, your saved memories and the prompts you reuse, and leave the
conversation history behind.

## Two rules that matter

**Write it like you would explain it to a new starter.** Not marketing copy.
Plain sentences. If a bit is messy in real life, say it is messy. Claude works
better with the truth than with the tidy version.

**Anything you leave as a placeholder is a hole.** If a section says
`[fill this in]` and you leave it, Claude will guess. It will guess confidently
and it will be wrong. Delete the sections you genuinely do not need.

## Keeping it alive

Put a reminder in your calendar for the first working day of every month. Open
the company brain file, spend ten minutes updating anything that has changed,
re-upload it. That is the whole maintenance job.
