We’ve all seen those websites, sleek fonts, stunning images, beautiful colours… But here’s the real question:

Is your website just a pretty face, or is it actually doing its job?

Because while good design matters (of course it does!), it’s not just about looking the part. Your website should work for your business. That means guiding visitors, converting leads, and making life easy for anyone who lands on it.

Here are a few signs your site might be falling short, even if it looks great on the surface:

1. It’s slow to load

If your website takes too long to load, your visitors won’t wait around. They’ll click off, make a cuppa, and probably not come back. Speed isn’t just a bonus, it’s essential.

2. The navigation’s confusing

Can your visitors easily find what they’re looking for? If they’re hunting for your booking page like it’s hidden treasure, that’s a problem. Good navigation should be effortless, think sat nav, not maze.

3. It’s not mobile-friendly

Over 80% of people browse websites on their phones. If your site’s only designed for desktop, you’re likely losing a huge chunk of your audience. Mobile-first isn’t optional anymore, it’s a must.

4. There’s no clear call to action

If your visitors don’t know what to do next, they probably won’t do anything at all. A clear CTA (call to action) is like putting a front door on your business, don’t make people guess how to work with you.

5. It looks good, but says nothing

A beautiful design with no clear message, no purpose, and no structure? That’s just showing off. Design should support your content and make your services shine, not get in the way.

So… what now?

If any of the above sounds familiar, don’t worry, you’re not alone. The good news? It’s 100% fixable.

I design websites that don’t just look good, they actually work. If you’re ready for a site that’s got beauty and brains, you know where I am.
