Landing Page or Full Website: Which One Do You Actually Need?

One page that does one job, or a full site that covers everything you do. Here is how to tell which one fits, and what each one costs.

If you sell one main thing, or you are running ads to one offer, a landing page is usually enough. If you offer several services, want to be found on Google for each of them, or need people to trust you before they get in touch, you need a full website. Plenty of businesses end up with both.

What a landing page is for

A landing page is one page with one job. It sells one thing and asks for one action, like a call, a booking or an enquiry. Nothing else on the page competes for attention.

It works best when you are sending people to it on purpose. An ad, a social post, a QR code on a flyer, a link in an email. They arrive knowing roughly what they want, and the page gets them to say yes.

What a full website is for

A full website is for being found and being trusted. It has a page for each service, an about page, proof of your work and an easy way to get in touch. Google needs those pages to know what to show you for, and new customers use them to check you out.

If most of your work comes from people searching Google, a single page will struggle. One page cannot rank for five different services in three different towns.

A quick way to decide

A landing page is probably enough if:

  • You sell one main product, service or offer.
  • Your customers come mostly from ads, social or word of mouth, not Google searches.
  • You need something live quickly to test an idea or launch something new.

You probably need a full website if:

  • You offer several services and people search for each one separately.
  • You want to show up on Google in your area.
  • Customers usually check you out properly before they get in touch.
  • You want one place that holds your reviews, your work and your story.

What each one costs

We publish our prices, so here they are. Every build is custom designed, never a template. The AI-accelerated lane is quicker and cheaper because AI handles the first drafts and our team refines them. The bespoke lane adds a strategy session, a custom design system and human-written copy.

  • Landing page: from £695 AI-accelerated, or from £1,200 bespoke.
  • Business website: from £1,495 AI-accelerated for up to 5 pages, or from £2,500 bespoke for up to 8 pages.
  • All prices are plus VAT.

Starting small is fine

A landing page is not a dead end. Plenty of businesses start with one page to get going, then build the full site once they know what sells. If that is you, tell us at the start so we can plan for it, rather than starting from scratch later.

Questions people ask

Can a landing page rank on Google?

It can rank for one tightly focused search, especially a local one. It will not rank for lots of different services, because there is only one page for Google to read.

Is a landing page just a one page website?

Not quite. A one page website tries to fit everything onto one long page. A landing page leaves things out on purpose so it can do one job well.

How long does each one take?

As a guide, a landing page takes around 2 weeks AI-accelerated or 4 weeks bespoke. A full website takes around 4 weeks AI-accelerated or 6 to 8 weeks bespoke. That assumes we have your content when we start.
