SBS Building & Damp Proofing
Richard Wright runs a family damp proofing and building firm in Sheffield, with over 25 years in damp proofing and 9.98 out of 10 on Checkatrade from 150 reviews. The old website stopped scrolling halfway down the page, so most visitors never reached the phone number. We rebuilt it from scratch: fifteen pages, damp surveys first, their own photos and their customers' own words.

Thechallenge.
The old site looked fine at a glance, but the page physically stopped scrolling at the work gallery. Anyone scrolling with the mouse over it never got as far as the reviews, the phone numbers or the form.
Six pages shared one title, none had a description, and none of the 71 images were labelled for Google. It loaded 8.4MB the moment anyone landed.
Richard asked for one thing above everything else: push damp surveys. A survey finds the cause before anyone pays for the wrong fix.
Their best sales tools were already there. 150 Checkatrade reviews and years of their own job photos. Both needed to be front and centre, not tucked away.
Ourapproach.
Damp surveys lead everywhere. First in the menu, the main button on the first screen, a dark band straight under the stats, and a page of their own. Every Book a damp survey button opens the form with a survey already picked.
Three kinds of damp explained plainly: condensation, rising and penetrating. Each one links to the page that fixes it, so a visitor can work out what they're looking at before they ring.
Nine service pages, from rising damp and black mould to wall ties and loft conversions. Each one covers the signs to look for, how SBS treats it step by step, real reviews and the questions people ask.
Their own photos throughout, no stock. 44 finished jobs on the Our work page, filtered by type, and a before and after on the homepage.
Reviews quoted word for word, spelling and all, each one credited with the job, the postcode and the month. The areas page is built from those reviews too, with jobs counted by postcode and S6 out in front on 39.
On a phone, Call now and Free quote stay pinned to the bottom of the screen.
Built as a custom WordPress plugin, no page builder. Every page has its own title and description, the business is marked up for Google, there's a sitemap and a summary for AI search, and the six old page addresses all point to their new pages.
Search Console and Google Analytics set up at launch, with a cookie banner that sets nothing until the visitor says yes.

Damp surveys, rising damp, black mould and renovations each get a page of their own, plus 44 jobs in their own photos and reviews in their customers' own words.

Surveys first,then the fix.
The survey band under the stats, three kinds of damp explained plainly, every service in one grid, a before and after, the postcodes they work in, and a form that asks what you need in one tap.
